Taney Mothers’ Union is part of a worldwide charitable movement which provides practical, sustainable aid to women in communities with deprivation. Our own branch does this through our Mothers’ Union Overseas Fund, while also holding friendly, sociable, informative and fun evenings from October to May, usually on the second Tuesday of each month at around 8pm. At our Open Meetings, we welcome parishioners and friends regardless of parental status, age and gender (husbands and partners often come), so if you see anything in our programme that interests you, do come along.
Taney Mothers’ Union begins its new 2019-2020 season with an Open Meeting at 8.00pm on Tuesday 15th October in the Parish Centre. A representative of Boots Chemist will give a presentation on skin care. Before that, however, there will be a Mothers’ Union Service for all members at Rathfarnham Church on Thursday 12th September at 8.00pm, attended by June Butler, MU All-Ireland President.
We also look forward to the Mothers’ Union Fashion Show in the Talbot Hotel in Stillorgan. This will be on 19th October at 8.00pm and we are hoping to persuade some of our own members to model in it. In November, we plan to have another Open Meeting at which Geoff Scargill will tell us all about Protestant Aid, while in December we will have our Carol Service in Christ Church Taney, with mulled wine and mince pies afterwards.
