Mothers' Union

Taney Mothers’ Union is part of an international charity with more than four million members in eighty three countries which seeks to support families, particularly those suffering from adversity. In Taney our group comprises around 30-40 women, who meet around once a month from September to May each year for friendship, fun and mutual support as well as to provide some modest contribution towards our wider organisation’s activities.

Taney Mothers’ Union had an interesting and well attended meeting in May on the topic of ‘In The  Master’s Footsteps’, the pilgrimage undertaken by 32 Taney parishioners and friends to the Holy Land in October 2018. This had been led by our curates Nigel and Cathy, and Nigel talked us through an excellent presentation of photographs, following and explaining the route taken. This followed a very short AGM at which Stephanie Lloyd went quickly through the (solvent!) accounts, announced the presentation of the Jerusalem Bell by Carol Robinson Tweed to the Taney M.U. branch, and invited Amy Hourie to appraise us of some future events. The evening ended with a delicious supper and we adjourned until September. Throughout the 2018-2019 season, we had some very interesting and successful meetings and the committee will meet during the summer to plan some new events for 2019-2020.
