As a parish organisation that is itself over 100 years old, Taney Mothers’ Union branch is delighted to join the celebrations marking the 200th anniversary of the opening of Christ Church Taney for worship. We congratulate the clergy and Select Vestry on the beautiful restoration and updating of the church in 2017. Our M.U. branch will mark the bicentenary on 13th March 2018 with a talk about the history of Taney parish by Carol Robinson Tweed, author of the new book Taney, Progress of a Parish. This will be an open meeting and parishioners and friends are welcome to come along. In April, we plan to have a celebratory afternoon tea-party, and who knows what we might get up to during the rest of the year....
You don’t have to be a mother, or a woman, to come along to our Taney M.U. meetings. Our branch is delighted to welcome you whatever your parental or marital status, gender, sexuality, age or ethnic background. Our meetings are generally held at 8.00pm on the second Tuesday of the month from September to May.
Please contact the parish office or approach any of us directly for information or, if it’s an open meeting, turn up on the night.
