Taney Mothers’ Union is part of an international charity with more than four million members in eighty three countries which seeks to support families, particularly those suffering from adversity. In Taney our group comprises around 30-40 women, who meet around once a month from September to May each year for friendship, fun and mutual support as well as to provide some modest contribution towards our wider organisation’s activities.
Our season opens with a meal in a Monkstown restaurant on 20th September, before attending the Diocesan Festival Service at Monkstown Parish Church at 8.00pm. Details may be obtained by contacting Stephanie Lloyd via the parish office. We are currently drawing up our programme for the rest of the year to include some interesting talks, eating out and afternoon tea, and the published version should be available in early September.
Our meetings are generally held on the second Tuesday of each month at 8.00pm in the Parish Centre and are open to all parishioners and friends. If you feel like coming along, we will be delighted to see you.
We have decided to sponsor a flower arrangement at the Taney Flower Festival on 4th October and are looking forward to helping at the event.
As a parish organisation that is itself over 100 years old, Taney Mothers’ Union branch is delighted to join the celebrations marking the 200th anniversary of the opening of Christ Church Taney for worship. We congratulate the clergy and Select Vestry on the beautiful restoration and updating of the church in 2017.
