Our meetings have been very enjoyable and well attended this year. In January, we had a very interesting and informative slide show with Assumpta Broomfield, an expert on snowdrops. We were amazed at all the variations to be found!
In February, we had our ‘Dine-Out’ in the Goat. At our March meeting, Helen Rainsford treated us to a fun quiz, which was enjoyed by everybody. In April, we had another Teaparty for past and present members. It was a great success and we hope to hold another one next spring. Our season ended with the AGM on 8th May and we hope to reopen our evening meetings on Tuesday 9th October. We are always delighted to welcome new members – women and men, married or single. On 20th September, we hope to attend the MU Diocesan Service in Monkstown and to share a meal in a restaurant before the service.
We have decided to sponsor a flower arrangement at the Taney Flower Festival on 4th October and are looking forward to helping at the event.
As a parish organisation that is itself over 100 years old, Taney Mothers’ Union branch is delighted to join the celebrations marking the 200th anniversary of the opening of Christ Church Taney for worship. We congratulate the clergy and Select Vestry on the beautiful restoration and updating of the church in 2017.
You don’t have to be a mother, or a woman, to come along to our Taney M.U. meetings. Our branch is delighted to welcome you whatever your parental or marital status, gender, sexuality, age or ethnic background. Our meetings are generally held at 8.00pm on the second Tuesday of the month from September to May.
Please contact the parish office or approach any of us directly for information or, if it’s an open meeting, turn up on the night.
